4/1/2022 LG Fridge Not Cooling?LG fridges have been plagued with bad compressors for many years, often resulting in a warm fridge and freezer compartment. LG actually settled a class action lawsuit in 2020 for this very problem. Unfortunately, it looks like the deadline to file a claim has passed, even though some recent LG fridges (the most recent one we ran into was manufactured in 2018) continue to have this problem.
If the lights still come on in the fridge/freezer compartment and you can hear the fans and compressor (a humming sound at the back of the fridge) running but your LG fridge isn't cooling in both compartments, you have a sealed system failure. The sealed system is the refrigeration system, and, in the case of LG fridges, the compressor has most likely failed. We do not do sealed system work as it is labor-intensive and not very cost effective for the vast majority of fridges. If you're unsure of whether you have a sealed system failure or not, or want to try to get some money from LG and need documentation of the problem from a technician, we can definitely help!
